Melanie Fernandez is a licensed esthetician, certified cancer care skin specialist, and breast cancer survivor based in Modesto, CA. She is the co-founder of Siete Aesthetics alongside her business partner Jessica, and the creator of The SoulCare Sponsorship Program.
After completing four rounds of chemotherapy, Melanie returned to school — not despite what she had been through, but because of it. She built a practice rooted in the one thing she had needed most during treatment: safe, compassionate, intentional touch.
Her approach goes beyond skincare. She brings lived understanding to every appointment — of fear, of exhaustion, of what it feels like to lose connection with your own body. That knowledge lives in every treatment she gives.

Breast Cancer Diagnosis
Melanie received her breast cancer diagnosis — a moment that changed everything. Four rounds of chemotherapy and a double mastectomy followed. Years of reconstruction came after, with the final surgery completed in 2017. Through every stage, she discovered how deeply the human soul needs to feel cared for, seen, and safe.

The Decision to Return to School
After recovery, Melanie made the courageous decision to go back to school at an age when many would choose comfort. She pursued esthetics licensing with a clear calling — to be for others what she had needed most.

Melanie completed her certification as a Cancer Care Skin Specialist through OTI — the gold standard in oncology esthetics — deepening her ability to serve clients navigating cancer with safety, skill, and compassion.

Sourdough found me during a season when I needed it most.
What started as a simple desire to learn something new quickly became a place of healing. In the quiet rhythm of mixing, stretching, folding, and waiting, I found peace. It taught me patience when I wanted quick answers, trust when I couldn't see the outcome, and joy in slowing down.
Every loaf reminds me that the best things in life can't be rushed. They require time, care, intention, and love.
Today, baking is more than something I do — it's how I serve. Whether I'm sharing a warm loaf with a neighbor, teaching someone how to bake for the first time, or watching families gather around the table, my heart is always the same: to create connection, nourish others, and remind people that love is often found in the simplest moments.
For me, sourdough has never just been about bread.
It's about bringing people home to the table.
It's about creating space for conversation, laughter, healing, and belonging.
And it's my way of sharing the love and grace that have been so generously given to me.
